Established by Rodney and Linda Evangelho in 1981, Evangelho Seed & Farm Store was initially staffed by family members and a trio of additional employees. Our original location at Highway 41 and Grangeville Blvd. in Lemoore began as a seed business, efficiently serving the needs of local farm and dairy operations. By the dawn of the 21st century, it was clear that we needed more space to handle the ever-increasing volume of business, and in 2003 we opened our new, larger facility – right next door to our original location.
And our growth wasn’t limited to just our building. Evangelho Seed & Farm Store had expanded to serve the growing needs of our ag customers, which included livestock feed and, ultimately, a wide variety of items for new neighbors who stopped by as the community grew up around us. From pet and livestock products to fencing materials, animal bedding supplies to clothing, jewelry and more, our inventory expanded to reflect the demands of our growing customer base. And Evangelho Seed & Farm Store became a familiar community gathering spot.
Today, Evangelho Seed & Farm Store is still very much a family owned and operated business. Rodney Evangelho, the son of founders Rodney and Linda, now runs the store, flanked by a team of family members and employees. And our longstanding tradition of welcoming customers and community members into our store with familiar faces and personal service continues as well. That’s the difference family makes.
Recognized for giving back
Now in our fifth generation in Kings County, the Evangelho family understands the value of contributing to the greater good of our community. Through our business, we’ve made it a priority to give back to the community and the ag industry from day one.
Besides offering seminars for 4-H and FFA students, we have also been active with the Kings County Farm Bureau and providing agricultural education to teachers from urban areas to take back and share. We believe a stronger community strengthens us all, and are committed to enhancing the quality of life in this special place we call home. We know we are not alone in this commitment, which is why we were surprised and humbled several years ago to be named Ag Support Business of the Year by the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce.
